All writers experience a phenomenon called “writer’s block” at least once in their writing career. Unfortunately for many, writer’s block is a reoccurring problem and can get in the way of deadlines and finishing pieces.
Writer’s block is nothing serious, and not a medical condition. It is different for everyone who experiences it. Some people experience a total inability to write, while others just find it more difficult to start or continue writing.
There are many ways to overcome writer’s block, but sometimes it requires one to know why they are writers blocked. Some solutions are pushing out of your comfort zone, talking to a tutor, or reading other works to jolt creative ideas.
Writer’s block is nothing to be afraid of. It can last very short periods of time with the right headspace and with the right help from others.
Other solutions are starting at the end of the story, leaving details for later, or even taking a break. Overworking won’t help overcome writer’s block and can make it worse in the long run. Take a step back from the laptop, get some Starbucks, and watch Netflix to unwind.
Being a writer doesn’t mean writing every second of everyday. Take a breather and when you come back to the story it will be fresh and flow like a river.
